A First Responder Thank You from Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School

Thanks to ALL who SERVE and PROTECT!

With so many police tragedies occurring lately, including the loss of Officer Blake
Snyder, Mrs. Meczkowski’s third grade class wrote letters of appreciation to two
police officers that have children in her class, Mr. P. and Mr. R. The children’s
letters were letting the officers know that they are grateful for all they do each day
to protect us and that they are dedicated and courageous heroes. The students
prayed to Saint Michael the Archangel to watch over them each day. St. Michael
is an angel and the leader of all angels of the army of God and the patron Saint
of police officers.

This touched the hearts of both officers, and in order to show how much they
appreciated the messages from the children, Officer P. brought the whole class a
special cookie treat. He talked to the class about the importance of police
officers...how police officers are always working to protect us...on cold days,
when we are asleep, etc. He spoke about how he followed his dream to become
a police officer and stressed how important it was for the students to do the
same. He told them they could be whatever they wanted, as long as they put
their mind to it. We truly are grateful to have these selfless, hard-working officers
protecting us each day and pray that God will bless them and keep them safe.
