Maplewood Street Projects on Tonight's Council Agenda

Several streets in Maplewood could be repaved or improved if Maplewood City Council ultimately approves the work.
Council members are scheduled to discuss several street projects during a meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in . Amcon Municipal offered to do the work for about $730,000, the lowest bid the city received.
Canterbury, Margaretter, Madge, Lyle, Valley, Williams, Walter and Gayola avenues could all be in line for road improvements.

- The council is set to discuss a proposal to . Its the second phase of the project and the lowest bid for the work is $635,101.25.
- Michael Stivers is asking for a conditional use permit to open a new bar, TILT, on the corner of Sutton Boulevard and Hazel Avenue. It will feature
- Home Away From Home Child Care Center Inc. is requesting a conditional use permit to run a day care at 7523 Flora Ave. The center has been at another location in town for 15 years, but had to move recently.
- Improvements to the public parking lot on Marietta Avenue will also be discussed. A house was recently torn down to make room for new parking spots. to the 115 already there.
- The city is transfering $100,000 to cover legal fees for this year. The city has resolved two court cases and has another pending.
- The fire department needs to purchase a new rescue and extraction tool set for its new rescue truck. City staff recommends accepting a Champion Rescue Tools bid of $19,448.
