From bowling to dancing, here's how to have fun in Maplewood and Brentwood.

Whether you're single, dating or have been been married for 20 years, we all get stuck in ruts sometimes. It can feel like you've run out of fun things to do, begging the inevitable question, "So do you just want to watch a movie or something?"

  • — The new dinner theater spot in Maplewood is great for anybody looking to see a great show. Dine on high-end cuisine and cocktails while enjoying Las Vegas-style entertainment. It's a good idea to call ahead for ticket reservations to the shows, but for dinner you can walk in and eat anytime before a show.
  •  — As the motto goes, Saratoga Lanes is Bowling the way it used to be and Intimate, Fun and Exciting!. This is the perfect double-date night location, as the upstairs bowling alley has a fully stocked bar and private lane rentals available for affordable prices. Rent an individual lane for $25/hour on weekdays, $30/hour on weekends.
  • Twin Oak — This place is perfect for the foodie couple who loves to have food and drink be the main event of the night. Though it recently changed its name from Taste to Twin Oak, the restaurant's concept is the same, with amazing wood-fired pizzas and hand crafted beer selections. You just have to check this one out to appreciate it.
  •  — For folks who love the entertainment of theater, the Black Cat is the place for them. Coming up in October, be sure to get tickets for A La Carte, a collection of one-act plays in theatre bar style, so you can enjoy drinks while you watch. Tickets are $25 per person.
  • — Take your lover to the Focal Point to watch some new, romantic dance moves. The nonprofit organization promotes traditional folk art like music and dance. You can purchase tickets at the door or in advance at Music Folk in Webster Groves or the in Maplewood. Tickets go on sale one month prior to each show.
