Pittsburgh Pipe Moves Headquarters To Newly Purchased Building

Pittsburgh Pipe’s strategic plan for growth continues to move forward with its recent acquisition of 2331 Hampton Ave. as the new home for its expanding corporate headquarters. The company recently purchased the 13,000-square-foot building for $675,000.

Pittsburgh Pipe is a manufacturer and nationwide distributor of steel casing pipe, drilled shafts, steel pipe piles, and polyethylene innerduct for the underground utility construction industry. The company has a total of 65 employees at its three locations in St. Louis, Mo., Buffalo, Mo., and Litchfield, Ill. The Litchfield location is the home for all of its manufacturing, fabrication, and steel products inventory.

According to company CEO Joe Bergfeld, who founded Pittsburgh Pipe in 1977, the company will move its headquarters from 170 Humboldt Ave. into its new Hampton space by Sept. 1 after renovations are completed. The new headquarters will serve as office space for the company’s sales, administration, and executive staff. Bergfeld added that his company will hire 25 more employees within the next two years.

This is the third time that Hilliker Corporation has sold the Hampton property, which was previously a bank, a truck dealership and, most recently, medical offices.
