The Scholarship Foundation is Accepting Student Applications

The Scholarship Foundation is offering interest-free loans for students for the spring 2015 academic semester

· Are you attending an accredited, nonprofit college, university, or technical/trade school?

· Have you lived in the St. Louis metropolitan area for at least 2 years?

· Do you qualify for Access Missouri or Pell Grant?

· Is your cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher?

Regardless of age, if you can answer “yes” to the above questions, you may be qualified to apply to The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis for an interest-free, fee-free student loan.

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis is now accepting loan applications until November 17, 2014 from students of any age that are seeking a first degree at an accredited, nonprofit college. Qualified students can be issued a renewable, interest-free loan of up to $9,000 annually. Those interested may apply at www.sfstl.org.

Applicants are selected on the basis of academic potential, personal character, and financial need. They must be enrolled in technical, bachelor’s, or associate degree programs at accredited, nonprofit institutions within the United States. Applicants should have graduated high school with a minimum 2.0 GPA or earned a GED. Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or approved under DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), and have lived in the St. Louis metropolitan area for at least two years. This area includes St. Louis City and St. Louis County; the Missouri counties of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, Warren, and Washington; and the Illinois counties of Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Madison, Macoupin, Monroe, and St. Clair.

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, a nonprofit organization founded in 1920, is based upon the conviction that an educated citizenry is essential to a democracy. More than 10,600 students have been awarded more than $62.2 million in interest-free, fee-free loans and $4.3 million in grants by the Foundation since 1920.
