Six Brentwood Homes Targets of Copper Theft
The Brentwood police blotter for Jan. 17 through Jan. 23.

Copper pipes were reported stolen from six homes on Annalee, Madge, Powell, Rosalie and White avenues in Brentwood last week.
Each house had a "for sale" sign in the yard and was unoccupied, said Maj. Dan Fitzgerald, assistant chief of the . He said similar reports have been made across the St. Louis area.
"They just go in and clean out the copper," Fitzgerald said.

The exact dates and number of suspects is currently unknown. He said the department doesn't have any witnesses or solid leads at the moment.
"And neither do other municipalities," Fitzgerald said.

The police department advises homeowners with a vacant house with a "for sale" sign in the yard to be aware of suspicious activity. If you see something suspicious happening, Fitzgerald asks that you call the police at 314-644-7100.
Monday, Jan. 17
- At 4:08 p.m., a purse and computer were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 9000 block of Bridgeport Avenue.
Wednesday, Jan. 19
- At 7:52 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was arrested inside a business on the 2400 block of Brentwood Boulevard for allegedly stealing personal care items.
Thursday, Jan. 20
- At 2:14 p.m., a 15-foot homemade trailer was reported stolen on the 8200 block of Brentwood Industrial Court.
Sunday, Jan. 23
- At 2:15 p.m., two pairs of shoes were reported stolen from a business on the 8500 block of Eager Road.
- At 2:23 p.m., a GPS system was reported stolen from a car on the 2500 block of Brentwood Boulevard.
