21 Days Rocks Cultural Stage at Fair Saint Louis

The Oakville High School freshmen performed downtown yesterday.

Incoming Oakville High School freshmen, Kyle Fulhorst, 14, Nathan Haskenhoft, 14, Austin Lininger, 14, and Roger Thomas, 15, have been playing music together as the band 21 Days for almost a year and a half now.

They say the name just came to them, back when the band consisted of just Thomas and Lininger.

"It used to be you'd just get your friends and play," said Lininger. Since last November though, the band has started to get serious, practice more, and play shows.

Drummer Roger Thomas originally sent in the band's information for a competition to compete on the main stage at Fair Saint Louis. They did not make it, but were offered a spot on the Cultural Stage for the 4th of July.

Fair Saint Louis marked the band's first outdoor show. While the crowd was smaller than what 21 Days is used to drawing, they say they had a lot of fun playing outside, and that with all the people walking by, they felt it was a great show.

The crowd was very receptive to the music.

"They are awesome for their age, and I'm very impressed that they are playing originals," said Tracy Girse, of Fenton, who was at Fair Saint Louis for the day with her family.

21 Days played a couple of cover songs, but most of the works were original. Their set list included:

No Surprise

Feel It

Bring You Home

Jamie

This Disaster

She'll Come Around

Find It

Say It Ain't So

21 Days' next show will be Saturday, July 9, on the main stage at Pops. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
