Check the Red Box to Lend a Hand

DollarHelp Campaign Warms Homes Across the Region

ST. LOUIS (January 16, 2013) ― For many St. Louis families, cold weather brings the struggle to pay their heating bill and stay warm. Laclede Gas’ DollarHelp program has provided much needed relief for local families for more than 30 years. St. Louisans lend a hand by checking the red box on their gas bill to donate one dollar a month to a neighbor in need.

As a service to the community, Laclede Gas, in partnership with United Way of Greater St. Louis, provides the administrative services to DollarHelp. This is done at no charge so every dollar donated passes directly to those in need, no matter what kind of heating fuel is used. Last year DollarHelp kept the heat on for nearly 3,000 families in the greater St. Louis area.

“These are our neighbors who are most in need—the elderly, disabled and families with young children. We are grateful for the generous support of St. Louisans, who dollar by dollar, are making a difference together,” said Dan Ryan, Laclede Gas director of Customer Care.
