To mark November as American Diabetes Month, St. Anthony’s Medical Center will offer a diabetes screening from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
The test consists of a simple finger prick and includes A1C (a test that provides information about average blood glucose over the past three months), glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride levels, HDL and LDL. Screenings will also include blood pressure, height/weight, waist circumference and body mass index. A 12-hour fast is required and results are provided immediately. Participants will have the opportunity to talk to a diabetes educator on a one-to-one basis.
