The Mehlville Majorettes recently traveled to compete in the National Baton Twirling Association’s USA/World Championship Competition. The competition was held July 16-20 at South Bend, Indiana on the beautiful Notre Dame University Campus. The girls practiced during the summer and prepared two routines to take to the competition. The girls competed against High School Majorette Lines from across the country.
The Mehlville Majorettes won the USA/World open High School Majorette Line Half Time Show Championship by performing a 3-minute routine titled “Dangerous.” The routine consisted of multiple baton twirling, flag twirling and knife twirling. This is the third consecutive year of wining the halftime show category!
The girls also competed in the USA/World open High School Majorette Line Dance Twirl Team championship. In this category, they performed a one-baton twirling and dance routine to “We're Dancing.” They received second place in this category. It was an awesome experience for the girls and they were so excited to bring back national awards to their high school and school district.

They rounded out their competition season by participating in the Missouri State Competition held in Kansas City, Missouri. They once again won both high school titles. They won the Dance Twirl Category with their "We're Dancing" routine and won the halftime category with their "Hero" routine. The majorettes have been guest performers at many venues this past season. They have been featured on TV on a number of occasions and have enjoyed performing with the band. They were very excited to be special guest performers at the St. Louis First Night celebration where they performed a fire twirling routine.
It had been an exciting and award-winning season for the Mehlville High School Majorettes. While they are blessed with their accolades, they are most excited to perform at halftime of the varsity football and basketball games and cheer on their Mehlville Panthers to victory! The girls all look forward to twirling on a collegiate level in the future. This season, we have five alumnae twirlers twirling on college football fields across the country. This is an accomplishment that we are very proud of!
