Board Accepts Ocello's Resignation, Taking Applications for Vacant Seat
Those wishing to apply for the vacant seat must do so by June 3.

The Mehlville school board is now accepting applications to fill the seat of former board member Michael Ocello.
Ocello, who was first elected to the board in 2006, announced February that he would be moving out of the district to Creve Coeur, pending the sale of his home. The board voted 5-0 to accept Ocello's resignation and announce the vacancy of his seat. Board member Rich Franz was absent from the meeting.
Residents in the district wishing to apply for the vacancy must submit an application stating why they want to serve on the board along with their qualifications for the position. All applications must be less than three pages and turned into the superintendent's office at the Mehlville School District Administration Building (3120 Lemay Ferry Road) by June 3 at 4 p.m.

The board will decide at their May 19 meeting when they will review the applications and hold interviews with candidates. The person selected will serve on the board until April, when the seat will be up for re-election.
The board extended the application period from two to three weeks, temporarily modifying their policy.
