5/5/13 – Feed My People celebrated its new façade with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this past weekend.  The new façade was made possible by a grant from the Community Reinvestment Fund through the St. Louis County Port Authority.

County Executive Charlie Dooley, along with Sheila Sweeney, Board Chair of the St. Louis County Port Authority and St. Louis County Economic Council, and Denny Coleman of the St. Louis County Economic Council expressed their support of Feed My People’s ongoing efforts to help neighbors in need.

Founders and Co-Executive Directors John and Carol DeGuire expressed their gratitude for the assistance of the Community Reinvestment Fund as well as their board members, staff, and over 350 volunteers. Senator Scott Sifton and Representative Bob Burns attended the ceremony, along with Feed My People Board Members, employees, volunteers, clients, and representatives from the Lemay Chamber of Commerce.

Feed My People is one of St. Louis County’s largest food pantries, and gave out over $3m worth of food last year.  They also have dozens of other programs to help those in need, ranging from energy assistance to job counseling to affordable housing.
