Oakville Tigers take Game 1 of the playoffs
Kovacich leads the Tigers in a 5-2 victory over the Lancers
At the end of the first period, the Tigers were down by one. But they would answer back midway through the second period when Andrew Kovacich (from Farina and Hassler) scored a power play goal tying the game at 1. Kovacich would score another goal in the second, assisted by Korte, giving the Tigers the lead.
Luke Hassler scored a goal of his own, assisted by Kovacich and Farina. And 3 minutes later Brendan Nichting would also score from Kovacich and Korte and the Tigers were ahead 4-1.
After a great performance from goalie, Zach Jost, the Lancers were able to get one past him on a power play goal, cutting the Tigers lead in half. With just over a minute to play the Lancers pulled their goalie, but Alex Rowland would score an unassisted empty net goal. And the Tigers win game 1 of their playoffs by a score of 5-2.
