Dental Care Musical Hits Point Elementary

More than 300 students at learned about proper dental hygiene through a musical sponsored by Delta Dental of Missouri on Tuesday. 

“Land of Smiles — The Musical” had a cast of toothy characters that encouraged kids to eat healthy foods, exercise and most importantly, take care of their teeth. Tooth decay is the leading chronic infectious disease among children in America, according to a release from Delta Dental.

After the play, the school nurse received materials to teach children the proper way to brush their teeth and students were sent home with a bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss.

The musical will travel to more than 70,000 students in 300 schools across Missouri during their tour.
