Feeling Forever Young with Shirley Temple

Shirley is a young terrier mix who loves to play.

May is finally here, and hopefully all of those April showers will bring us some beautiful May flowers! This week’s Pooch of the Week is as sweet as a fresh spring orchid. In fact, she is even named after America’s first sweetheart, Shirley Temple. And the name suits her quite well!

Much like her namesake, Shirley Temple embodies the idea of eternal youth. One cannot help but smile or start singing “On the Good Ship Lollipop,” when seeing this little pup wag her tail, chew on a bone or give lots of kisses to everyone she meets. She is happy-go-lucky and carefree.

When Shirley Temple first came to The Watering Bowl, she was a bit timid. She was unsure as to what TWB was all about. These feelings, however, quickly vanished when she realized that TWB was a place where she could let loose and make lots of new friends, two of her favorite things.

Shirley Temple, a young Terrier Mix, is not shy in the least.  If she sees some pups playing, she is quick to join in.  Shirley is always surrounded by other dogs, and has yet to be seen napping on the cots.  She makes the most of her time at TWB—she romps, she rolls and plays all day long!

Shirley Temple is very intelligent as well. Not only is she crate-trained, but she can also sit, lay down and stay. With the right kind of training, who knows what this gal is capable of!
