Funnybone: There’s More to Her Than Meets the Eye

At first glance, Funnybone may look intimidating. This is an instance, however, when the phrase, “don’t judge a book by its cover” rings true. Funnybone is anything but scary. In fact, she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She has been referred to as sweet, loyal, and even funny, but never has she been called mean – that just isn’t her style.

Funnybone got a stroke of good luck when one of Stray Rescue’s most loyal volunteers decided to foster her. Now, this particular foster mom claims that Funnybone is available for adoption, but let it be known that she has yet to successfully get one of her foster dogs adopted out – they all magically become part of her family. 

Funnybone is a 2-year-old Terrier mix who adores her foster sister, Scout. These two are inseparable. Funnybone's foster mom said the two of them are attached at the hip at home. If Scout goes into another room, it doesn’t matter what Funnybone is doing, even if she is sound asleep, she will get up and follow her. 

These two ladies act the same way at TWB. They play with other pooches, but mostly they play with each other. It’s as if the two of them have a special bond. No matter where Funnybone ends up, Scout will always be her soul sister.

The lesson to be taken from Funnybone’s story is to get to know a dog before deeming it mean, aggressive, or not a good family dog. There are so many tough-looking dogs down at Stray Rescue who have been overlooked because of how they look. These dogs may look rough around the edges, but they are some of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Go down there and see for yourself.
