Gaia: Sweet Shepherd Mix Seeking Someone to Love
Gaia is a gorgeous pooch waiting for a family's love.
The Stray Rescue Tuesday program at The Watering Bowl is on a hot streak. The past two dogs to come to TWB for a day of fun have been adopted shortly after. Kelvin and Jigsaw have found their forever home, and now it is time for Gaia to find hers.
Gaia, a 9-month-old Shepherd mix, was found in an abandoned house with three other dogs. Knowing that, it is understandable that she is a bit reserved. She is as sweet as can be, but needs to get to know people and other dogs before she can trust them. Luckily, the people at TWB were patient and gave her all the time she needed, and sure enough, Gaia was running and playing before the day was through.
One of the best things TWB does for dog owners is giving them a pleasant car ride home after a long day. Most Stray Rescue dogs have never been in a car and therefore are a bit unsure about the whole thing. Gaia was nervous on the ride to TWB, and couldn’t sit down or stop panting. The car ride back was a completely different story. She was curled up in the back seat sleeping soundly.
Gaia is currently staying at the Stray Rescue shelter on Pine Street. It takes a lot of money to keep the shelter up and running, and Stray Rescue relies a lot on donations. There are so many different ways to help, and here is an easy, simple way: On March 26, The Watering Bowl is having “A Day for the Strays.” All the money raised that day will go directly to Stray Rescue.
This is the perfect opportunity for your pooch to have some fun and for you to help the homeless and abused animals of St. Louis. For more information on the event, contact The Watering Bowl at 314-892-8779. For more information on Ms. Gaia, visit Stray Rescue.
