Welcome to our new column that will help you get through the weekday. Every Monday through Friday at 6 a.m., we'll tell you everything ranging from gas prices and traffic alerts to events around town and stories we're working on. Lastly, we'll sign off with something fun to kickstart your morning.

- Weather: Forecasts were definitely off yesterday and the weather could not have been more perfect. The Weather Channel is still calling for thunderstorms later in the day, but the morning should be nice.
- Gas: Sam's Club is at $3.46 while the Butler Hill Phillips 66 and Sinclair stations are at $3.48. The lowest in the area is still Sam's Club in Des Peres and Mobil in Crestwood (off Big Bend) at $3.34, according to stlouisgasprices.com.
- Today, Patch will be at the South County Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Royale Orleans and then camped out at St. Louis Bread Company. Stop by if you're in the area!
- Call for Fathers: Hey everyone, I'm looking for funny, unique, touching or nostalgic stories about your dad. We'll compile all of your stories and run them on Sunday for Father's Day.
