Good morning, Mehlville!

Welcome to our new column that will help you get through the weekday. Every Monday through Friday at 6 a.m., we'll tell you everything ranging from gas prices and traffic alerts to events around town and stories we're working on. Lastly, we'll sign off with something fun to kickstart your morning.

  • Weather: Unfortunately, The Weather Channel is calling for rain this weekend. Friday will have isolated thunderstorms with hot temperatures and the 30 percent chance of rain continues into Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is supposed to cool off to a high and low of 77 and 63 degrees, but you might want to break out those polka dot rain boots for .
  • Stop by St. Louis Bread Company Saturday morning for a Pink Ribbon bagel- all proceeds go to the Komen Race for the Cure. 
  • On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the northbound entrance ramp on Gravois Road will be closed. Starting Monday, the four lanes on northbound Interstate 270 at 44 and Gravois Road will be shifted to the right for bridge repairs, weather permitting. They were previously shifted to the left. Lane widths will be reduced and the speed limit is lowered to 45 mph. 
  • Next week, we'll explain how a candidate for the open school board seat will be selected. There is a board meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. in the to read through applications and develop a process for interviews. 

             We'll also be at Sen. Jim Lembke's town hall meeting Monday and have a
             story Tuesday morning.
