Home Cooking Remains Miss Sheri's Daily Specialty

Home-style cooking has made Miss Sheri’s Cafeteria a culinary landmark where South County residents have gathered for decades to eat comfort food dished up in single-serving bowls.

Filling those bowls are the foods your grandmother use to make— Swiss steak, pork chops and dressing, Jello salads, creamed spinach, stewed tomatoes and ambrosia.

Among the list served every day is roast beef and fried cod, with the cod elevated to a Friday special paired with two vegetables, bread and butter. Other entrees that surface during the week are old-fashioned stuffed bell peppers, tuna casserole, meat loaf and liver and onions. Retro recipes as Chicken a la King (the latest discovery of young chefs in trendy restaurants in town) has never left Miss Sheri's menu and remains a feature each Wednesday. 

Prices vary depending on the day’s features with entrees and specials averaging from $4.45 to $7.50. Sides and salads are add-ons at $1.20 each, which are hard to resist as you push your tray past the rows of selections. Before ringing out, you’ll be tempted with Miss Sheri’s signature home baked breads, rolls and desserts that include several sugar-free pies. 

Miss Sheri’s offers a large dining room with two smaller private dining areas for large groups. And as any fast food operation, Miss Sheri’s will pack and wrap orders for take-out. No matter if you dine in or take out, bring cash. Miss Sheri's doesn't accept debit or credit cards.
