IPMS/Gateway Hosts Region 5 Convention

GATEWAY CHAPTER IPMS PRESENTS 2015 REGION 5 COMPETITION

ST. LOUIS — The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (IPMS) will present the annual IPMS/USA Region 5 (Midwest) Competition (model contest and swap meet) on Saturday, September 12, 2015. This event will be held at the Holiday Inn St. Louis SW–Route 66, 10709 Watson Road in Sunset Hills, Missouri.

The show opens to the public at 9:00 a.m. and runs to approximately 3:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00 for adults and free to children ages 14 and under. Admission plus registration of unlimited models (accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) is $10 for adults and free for children ages 14 and under. The contest has 43 subcategories, including juniors and out of the box, and there will be ten “Best of” awards. The show’s theme and special category is “Remembering 1975.” A free children’s Make & Take model building session will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A raffle will be held, with proceeds benefitting the United States Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program in Metropolitan St. Louis.

Gateway Chapter IPMS is a scale modeling club which is open to all persons interested in this hobby. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Lewis Fellowship Hall of Calvary Presbyterian Church, located at 3400 Lemay Ferry Road in Mehlville (south St. Louis County), Missouri.
