Metro: Always on the Move
Metro, a 2-year-old brindle Terrier mix, can be adopted today from Stray Rescue.
This week’s Pooch of the Week goes to one happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Metro, a 2-year-old brindle Terrier mix, leaped into TWB staff member’s car with excitement gleaming in his eyes. This first meeting of Metro pretty much sums up his personality. He didn’t know where he was going, but he did not care. After all, adventures are what make life exciting.
Metro is the kind of pooch that loves to have a good time. During his day at TWB last Tuesday, it was rare to see him sitting or lounging around. Instead, he was busy exploring the place, making new friends and partaking in his absolute favorite activity, dancing!
Not so long ago, however, Metro was unable to do any dancing. He came to Stray Rescue with a nasty leg injury that hindered his ability to move around. Luckily, he was in good hands at Stray Rescue and has made a full recovery.

Metro’s speedy recovery was possible because of The Stracks Fund, the Stray Rescue of St. Louis’ emergency medical reserve. Stray Rescue reports that it costs approximately $150,000 every month to treat the severely abused and neglected dogs of St. Louis. Without this much-needed money, dogs such as Metro would not have the opportunity to live a happy, healthy life.
An anonymous donor has committed to match up to $100,000 in funds donated to The Stracks Fund. So if adoption isn’t an option at the moment, consider donating to Stray Rescue’s Stracks Fund. Every amount that is donated will be automatically doubled because of this donor. It is that simple and easy to help.
