Wohlwend Elementary Family Needs $4,000 to Bury Relative Killed in Oklahoma Tornado

The fundraising information was published in Wohlwend Elementary's Facebook page. The man's family is using the Go Fund Me website to help with donations.

TheΒ Wohlwend Wildcat PAWSΒ Facebook page recently announced an effort to help a student who lost a relative in the recent Oklahoma tornadoes on June 1.Β 

"Recently we have found out that one of our students has lost a family member due to the tornadoes in Oklahoma," the Facebook page reads. "His family is trying to collect money for a burial service.

"If you are willing to donate please go to the following websiteΒ http://gofundme.com/30tnwgΒ and follow the directions."

The organization said itΒ made a donation, along withΒ many Wohlwend staff and Wohlwend families.Β 

Wildcat PAWS is a volunteer groupΒ at Wohlwend Elementary. PAWS raises funds to support the school and to bring family fun activities to students and staff.

Karen Hodgson Holloway is an in-law to the man that died in the Tornado.

"Our prayers go out to a my brother-in-law...," she said. "(He is) aΒ good man who we cared and loved."

HollowayΒ said her brother-in-law,Β Leslie Johnson, 46, wasΒ a good father, uncle, friend and son, andΒ went missing after the Oklahoma tornado.

"(He) was found under debris, lifeless, badly injured," she said. "They were only able to identify him through fingerprints."

Holloway said her family set up the Go Fund Me account with hope toΒ provide children withΒ support related to theΒ funeral.

"It was aΒ privilege to have him on this earth and in our lives," she said. "He will be missed."
