Officer Says Retaliation is Happening for Exposing Racial Profiling
Sgt. Daniel O'Neil said he is being punished for revealing wrongdoing in the St. Louis County Police Department's South County precinct with racial profiling.

It is the name he signed on anonymous letters alleging a veteran police lieutenant ordered officers in the St. Louis County Police Department's South County precinct to target black peopleΒ at South County Center.
On Tuesday heΒ decided to reveal his true identity when he filed aΒ complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
He isΒ Sgt. Daniel O'Neil. The complaint isΒ he first step toward filing a discrimination lawsuit against the police department.
Some revere him as a hero for exposing an ugly secret while others say he made a big deal of nothing.Β
Still, he says he's having a difficult time a work since he made himself known. He told the St. Louis Post DispatchΒ the police department hasΒ targeted him ever since learning he wrote the letters.
