Panthers Meet Tough Competition in U City Relays

The Mehlville boys track team brought good team effort to high-caliber competition.

Mehlville head track coach Jay Holtmeyer said his boys team was a bit handicapped by injury and some of his runners taking the ACT as the Panthers went up to the University City Charlie Beck Invitational on Saturday. It would take some good performances and a team effort, he said.

There were plenty of past state champion teams at the meet, including Berkley, SLUH, Hazelwood, Lafayette and Marquette, and Holtmeyer said a medal here would feel pretty good.

“It’s our first real blow-out meet,” he said.
