Parents Sue Costco After Daughter's Death

Herbert and Sharon Morris, of Arnold, are suing Costco after their daughter died from a blood clot to the heart after slipping at the store and injuring her knee. 

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Amber Morris, 39, died May 6 after visiting the Costco at Interstate 55 and Lindbergh Boulevard on April 22. She fell on a "slippery foreign substance" and dislocated her knee cap.

The Morris' filed the wrongful death suit against Costco and store manager Kevin Boyd this week in St. Louis County Circuit Court. They are seeking unspecified damages.

The suit said, "He and store employees were negligent in leaving the spill on the floor and not barricading around it," the article states.
