Beautiful scenery abounds in this St. Louis County Park System’s hidden jewel. Bee Tree Park offers opportunities for walking, fishing, picnics, weddings and a playground for the kids. Best of all it is home to the historic Nim mansion, once the weekend home and gardens of Eugene Nim, the founder of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
It is interesting to note that the Frisbee Shelter at the park has nothing to do with the popular, plastic discs. Rather, it is named for Emmett Lyle Frisbee, former park worker. Additionally, the Lower Shelter is so-called not for its elevation, but for Jack Lower, another former park employee.
