Patch Picks: I Scream. You Scream. We All Scream for Ice Cream!

With July being National Ice Cream Month, we put together the best local places to get the cold, creamy treat. Patch searched the neighborhood for the most popular ice cream shops around. Stay cool and take the time to sample the wares at these local favorites. All you have to do is pick your cold treat and chill out.

The Blizzard is the best seller here and it comes in a wide variety of sizes and flavors. A new flavor, the Triple Chocoholic, is a new treat for the summer.

Turtle sundaes and turtle concretes are house specialties. Their traditional chocolate malts are also best sellers.

Oberweis Dairy

If you want to take your taste buds on a trip down memory lane, splurge and try a Banana Royal here. The cones here are exceptional when dipped in chocolate followed by nuts or sprinkles.

Concretes are a big seller here, but be sure to consider some of their other house specialties. Their custom-made cakes and pies are local favorites for special occasions.

Elicia’s serves Ted Drew’s Frozen custard in pre-frozen cups. They usually have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and Oreo.

Krispy Kreme

6935 South Lindbergh Boulevard, 63125

The soft serve ice cream at Krispy Kreme comes in vanilla, dark chocolate or swirl. Take your pick of a cone or a bowl. The good news is that you can buy it 24 hours a day.
