Peacock: Staying Positive Down at Pine

Peacock can be adopted at Stray Rescue.

Each week, a lucky pooch from the Stray Rescue shelter on Pine Street gets to spend the day romping and running the day away at The Watering Bowl, South County’s only cage-free doggy daycare.  Almost every dog that gets this opportunity makes the most of it, and is tuckered out by the time TWB employee drops him or her back off at the shelter in the evening.

It’s quite the privilege to be chosen to go to TWB; the dog has to get the stamp of approval from not only the Stray Rescue staff, but also the wonderful volunteers.  The dogs that get to spend their Tuesdays at The Watering Bowl are dogs that these canine lovers are certain would make a great addition to any family.  One lucky girl in particular got not one, but two days of fun at TWB.  must have done something right to earn this great honor!

The last time we saw Peacock at TWB was the week of Thanksgiving. She had a whole lot to be thankful for; her adoption was pending, and she got to spend the day doing her favorite thing in the entire world, running! Unfortunately, her adoption fell through and she is still staying at the Stray Rescue shelter off Pine. Obviously she is a bit bummed, but she knows that the perfect family is out there waiting for her.

The staff and volunteers knew that Peacock needed a special day to cheer her up, and TWB staff made she that she got just that.  Peacock, a black, 2-year-old petite Terrier mix, got the spa package fit for a princess!  First, she got to spend the day frolicking around the play area, then she got a nice, warm bath, and finally, she got that beautiful, soft coat brushed out.  She was looking good at the end of the day, and she knew it!  There’s nothing like a little pampering to make a gal feel special!  For more information on this pretty princess, visit Stray Rescue!
