Updated: Police Respond to Shots Fired in Affton
The incident happened on the 8200 block of Marvale.

A 34-year-old suspect is being treated at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after displaying a weapon in front of an officer. The officer shot the suspect; he is expected to survive.
The female officer was patrolling the area around Marvale Lane and Cheshire at 10:30 a.m. when she came across the suspect in the driveway of a place he has been staying at 8242 Marvale Lane.

The suspect was wanted for a domestic disturbance that occurred two days ago in the South County Precinct, had a warrant out for drugs and was wanted for motor vehicle larceny and a stolen credit card, said Lieutenant Chris Stocker with County Police.
The officer attempted to arrest the suspect, leading to a physical altercation. After the suspect pulled out a knife, the officer pulled out her firearm and shot.

"She felt threatened," Stocker said.
The police officer is a 10-year veteran of the St. Louis County Police.
Police are unsure if the suspect fired a shot or if there were multiple shots fired.

A suspect is being transferred to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the division of Crimes Against Persons is en route.
