Pups Escape the Heat at The Watering Bowl

is a pup's refuge from this summer heat. Along with cool air conditioning throughout the indoor play area, they have recently upgraded to a super-sized pool that can easily accommodate ten dogs. The dogs, especially Doodles, Labs, Golden Retrievers, and Huskies, can't get enough of it! Some dogs refuse to get out of the pool even when it's time to go home. They would live in that pool if they could. This week's Pooch of the Week, Wonka, wasn't really interested in the big pool, but he took full advantage of the AC, and spent his day at TWB on the move!

With the heat wave taking over St. Louis last week, Mr. Wonka was in for a real treat - he got to spend a whole day romping and running in The Watering Bowl's spacious, air conditioned play area!  This 3 year-old Beagle mix may be small, but you know what they say, big things come in small packages, and this is certainly true when it comes to Wonka! He has quite the personality and got along great with the other dogs. He absolutely loved exploring the place and getting into mischief.  He wasn't timid, and fit in perfectly with all of his new friends. 

Wonka enjoys the company of adult humans; they seem to understand and respect that he does not like being picked up or held. For that reason, Wonka would do best in a family without small kids who might want to pick him up and grab at him.
