Shirley: From Living on the Streets to Being Simply Sweet

This 2-year-old Terrier mix can be adopted from Stray Rescue today.

Lately, the Stray Rescue staff has chosen some super sweet gals for Stray Rescue Tuesdays at The Watering Bowl, and this week’s Pooch of the Week, Shirley, is no exception. From the moment TWB staff member picked Shirley up at the shelter, all she wanted was some love and attention. Everyone at TWB was happy to oblige to this request.

Although Shirley’s past was not ideal, she holds no grudges. She spent the summer roaming the hot, sweltering streets of the city, never knowing where her next meal was going to come from or if she would be able to find relief from the heat. Life has gotten so much better since she was rescued from the streets by Stray Rescue. She spent so much of her time just trying to survive that it’s a treat to have people take care of her for a change.

Although this 2-year-old Terrier mix didn’t spend her time at TWB rastlin’ or playing chase, she still had a blast; it was obvious from the big smile that was plastered on her face. She preferred to spend her day meandering around, exploring the place, and of course, nuzzling up to TWB staff.
