Why: To be part of a national Memorial Day ceremony honoring our fallen soldiers.

St. Francis of Assisi School Picnic

Why: To attend a school picnic complete with games, rides and food.

When/ Where: 9:30p.m.-12:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at Frankie G’s, 4565 Chestnut Park Plaza
Why: Drop in and enjoy the Blues/ Folk/ Bluegrass sounds of Steve Bauer.
Pricing: No cover charge
The 2011 St. Louis Senior Olympics
When/ Where: all day, May 26-30, Jewish Community Center, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, 63146, is the main venue, but the location with the event, so check the web site for specifics: http://www.jccstl.com/index.php/programs/sports-recreation/st-louis-senior-olympics/ .
Why: To cheer on our local Oakville Olympians like Tony Betancourt and Pat Mann.

Chow down at the Brew and Q Pork Steak Championships
When/ Where: 5-10 p.m. Friday, May 27 and noon-10 p.m. Saturday, May 28, Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest Avenue
Why: To enjoy two days of bands, beer and an amateur barbecue showdown
