When/ Where: 10 a.m. Monday, May 30 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road

Why: To be part of a national Memorial Day ceremony honoring our fallen soldiers.

Pricing: Free entrance, free off-site parking at the Metro station on Sheridan Road and free shuttles to the ceremony.

St. Francis of Assisi School Picnic

When/Where: Begins with a parade at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, at St. Francis of Assisi, 4550 Telegraph Road.

Why: To attend a school picnic complete with games, rides and food.

Pricing: Varies, but wristbands will be sold for rides.

Steve Bauer Live at Frankie G’s

When/ Where: 9:30p.m.-12:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at Frankie G’s, 4565 Chestnut Park Plaza

Why: Drop in and enjoy the Blues/ Folk/ Bluegrass sounds of Steve Bauer.

Pricing: No cover charge

The 2011 St. Louis Senior Olympics

When/ Where: all day, May 26-30, Jewish Community Center, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, 63146, is the main venue, but the location with the event, so check the web site for specifics: http://www.jccstl.com/index.php/programs/sports-recreation/st-louis-senior-olympics/ .

Why: To cheer on our local Oakville Olympians like Tony Betancourt and Pat Mann.

Pricing: There is no cost to watch the events.

Experience a “Shopper’s Paradise” at the Gypsy Caravan

When/ Where: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday, March 30 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, south parking lots and garage

Why: To shop at more than 300 vendor booths

Pricing: $5 admission charge

Chow down at the Brew and Q Pork Steak Championships

When/ Where: 5-10 p.m. Friday, May 27 and noon-10 p.m. Saturday, May 28,     Schlafly Bottleworks, 7260 Southwest Avenue

Why: To enjoy two days of bands, beer and an amateur barbecue showdown

Pricing: All food and beverages are priced individually.
