Two Homers Lead Oakville Over Seckman
The Jaguars hosted a tough Tigers team on Wednesday afternoon.
Two pitchers hit their first home runs of the season Wednesday: St. Louis Cardinal Adam Wainwright and Oakville softballβs Alex Frenz.
βIβve been really struggling at the plate lately. It gave me a lot more confidence and felt really good,β Frenz said after Wednesdayβs game at Seckman High School.
The Tigers defeated the Jaguars 11-0 in five innings.

Oakville started strong with four runs in the first inning thanks to Frenzβs home run and doubles by Fedorchak and Jordan Michalski.
The Tigers are now 7-2 for the season and coach Rich Sturm said itβs because of how much the athletes have improved from last year.
His strategy is being reckless on offense and conservative on defense.
βWe want to take as many chances as we can, and try to put as much pressure on the opponent and force them to make some mistakes, which weβre able to do a couple times,β he said.
The Jaguars didnβt make many mistakes, but couldnβt keep up with Oakvilleβs bunting and long hits.
Shortstop Lauren Faulstich hit well for Seckman with a double and a single.Β
βI was really happy with the way she hit the ball today, she drove the ball and swung really hard,β Seckman coach Steve Bonastia said.
Despite the 11-run loss, Bonastia wasnβt disappointed in his team.
βI just think sometimes it doesnβt go for you,β he said. βWe were hitting the ball at people and they made some plays in the field. We werenβt getting those balls to fall.β
