Blues on the Mississippi
When/ Where: 8-11 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Jefferson Barracks Park, 345 North Road.
Why: To enjoy the sounds of Patti & the Hitmen and to support the Friends of Jefferson Barracks.
Pricing: General admission is $7 per person.
Teen Lock-In: Japanese Festival
When/ Where: 7 -9 p.m. Friday, June 17, at 5430 Telegraph Road, Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library.
Why: Kids 12 to 17 are invited to join this celebrate of Japanese by trying their skills at origami, kangi (Japanese calligraphy) and making candy sushi.
Pricing: Free with registration.
Tom Kelly Concert at Frankie G’s
When/ Where: 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., Saturday, June 18, at Frankie G’s Grill & Bar, 4565 Chestnut Park Plaza,
Why : To enjoy the rock sounds of Tom Kelly.

Release Party for “Cars 2”
When/ Where: 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 25 South County Center Way, Border’s.
Why: To join in activities celebrating the pending release of the Disney/ Pixar movie “Cars 2.”

Oldies by the River
When/ Where: 8-11 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Jefferson Barracks Park, 345 North Road
Why: To experience the sounds of Sh-Boom under the stars, on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.
Pricing: General admission is $7 per person.
Enjoy a One-Ring Circus
When/ Where: Performances at 2 and 7 p.m. June 17-18, under the air-conditioned tent adjacent to Powell Hall in Grand Center.
Why: Celebrate 25 years of Circus Flora with “Vagabond Adventures.”
Pricing: Tickets range from $10.50 to $50.50
Catch the Final Performance of “The Taming of the Shrew” in Forest Park
When/ Where: The Green Show begins at 6:30 p.m. and the play at 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park, on the east side of Art Hill.
Why: To watch a clever, updated version of a Shakespearean classic.
