Sign up by April 1st for Wounded Warriors Bike Ride along KATY Trail, Hosted by Missouri DAR and the Department of Natural Resources

Missouri DAR is joining with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to host a Wounded Warriors Bike Ride on the 25th anniversary of the KATY Trail on October 3, 2015. Money raised will go to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, whose mission is to honor and empower wounded service members. The bike ride will take place along the length of the Katy Trail, from Clinton to St. Charles. DAR chapters from all across the state are sponsoring 27 SAG (Support And Gear) stops along the trail. If you’re interested in riding our nation’s longest developed and most popular rail trail and also supporting our nation’s veterans, please sign up by April 1st. You can also show your support for the Wounded Warriors Project by sponsoring a rider. Visit the “Wheeling for Healing” Facebook page for more information and links to rider application forms and pledge forms or email any questions to w4hkatyride@gmail.com.
October, 2015 also marks the 125th anniversary of DAR. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With more than 165,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
