Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Chosen to attend U.S. Navy’s STEM summer camp program.
Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Trevor Leach’s favorite classes in school are social studies and science. His love for science led him to apply to the U.S. Navy STEM summer camp program, which is held June 6-11 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He was one of only 375 students nationwide selected to attend.
“My dad went there and after he told me about it, I thought it would be really fun,” Leach said. “I really like robotics and science and everything else that I’m going to learn about there. I think they’re really neat,” he added.
In addition to his love for science and math, Leach enjoys playing soccer. He currently plays for Vetta Sports in Concord, where he is a midfielder.
Leach will attend Oakville High School in the fall of 2011.
