Police: O'Fallon Man Charged With Assault After Allegedly Choking, Striking Woman in Face

An O'Fallon man is charged with assault after police say he allegedly hit and choked a woman on Tuesday.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued second degree assault charges on James Gasperoni, 21, O’Fallon.
According to O'Fallon Police, officers responded to a call in the 1300 block of Manuka Dr. at 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police say during the assault, a 29-year-old woman was choked and repeatedly struck in the face. The victim was transported to the hospital for non life threatening injuries.
The victim and the Gasperoni knew each other, according to police.

Gasperoni is being held on a $25,000 dollar bond.
