Cornerstone UMC to Offer Free Family Event
Pumped-Up Orange Fest returns bigger and better than everOn Saturday, October 26 from 11 am to 3 pm, Cornerstone United Methodist Church will be going ORANGE. With activities such as games, bounce houses, pumpkin carving, and music; plus hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches to eat, Pumped-Up Orange Fest has something for everyone.
We will also be participating as a MOCHIP site for the day. MOCHIP is a comprehensive child identification & protection program designed to provide families a proactive means of preparation should their child or teen become missing.
What makes this event different from many others is that it is totally FREE. This is an annual community outreach event designed so that everyone can come and enjoy themselves for the day and not worry about paying for anything. Registering for the event is easy, just go to www.umcornerstone.org/orangefest.
"This is our fourth year doing this event and it has grown every year, and that is really exciting for us," says Dawn Gerard, Connections Coordinator for the church. "We want to share with the community not only our church, but our radical hospitality and extravagant generosity."
The mission of Cornerstone is clear, to Lead People to Jesus. And they follow that, along with their vision, to be the "eyes and ears, hands and feet, heart and voice of Jesus to our community and the world;" in their various activities, groups, and mission projects.
Cornerstone UMC is one of the oldest Methodist churches in the O'Fallon area. For over 200 years, they have offered a wide variety of opportunities for spiritual and emotional growth; whether it is in a small group or in worship and Sunday school, there is some way for everyone to get connected.
