3. On Your Side: Springfield fast-food workers say their paychecks bounced, still waiting to be paid (ky3.com) — Several Springfield McDonald's workers say their paychecks recently bounced, leaving some families hundreds of dollars overdrawn and scrambling to cover housing and basic needs. Employees from three local franchise locations report repeated problems, limited help from authorities, and little response from the franchisee or corporate, while the state attorney general's office signals possible interest in the case.
4. Springfield residents pack data center public engagement session (kspr.com) — Springfield city leaders drew a packed crowd to a public meeting on potential data centers, with residents voicing strong concerns about environmental impacts, electricity use, and community benefits. City staff stressed there are no active data center applications, including at 2900 South National, and scheduled another engagement session for Tuesday, September 1 at the Library Center's Hatch Auditorium.
5. Springfield Ballet reaches new milestone with its 50th anniversary (ksmu.org) — Springfield Ballet is marking its 50th anniversary with an expanded season, including eight performances of The Nutcracker in December and The Sleeping Beauty next May.
