While this category still ranks just 21st among local Medicaid costs, it has surged far faster than overall city Medicaid spending, raising questions about how public health dollars are shifting in specific neighborhoods.
3. Lefty Gunplay Booked On Assault Charge In Missouri (allhiphop.com) — A Grammy-winning rapper known as Lefty Gunplay was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault in Springfield shortly after a packed show at downtown venue Regency Live. Springfield police made the arrest, and he was booked into Greene County Jail as details of the alleged incident remain undisclosed.
4. Greene County deputy returns to duty after undergoing treatment for rare cancer (ky3.com) — A Greene County deputy based in Springfield has returned to full duty after a grueling 10-month battle with a rare duodenal cancer that nearly claimed his life. Supported by fellow deputies and the community through surgery, chemo, and financial help, he says putting his uniform back on has restored a sense of normalcy for both his work and family life.

Former WP attorney Wiles disbarred (westplainsdailyquill.net) — A Springfield-based attorney, John "Jay" Wiles II, has been permanently disbarred by the Missouri Supreme Court after repeatedly missing court appearances in dozens of cases across the state. The ruling follows an earlier suspension and Wiles' own admission of misconduct amid serious personal, financial, and health struggles.
