With flexible staging, concessions, and plans for art displays and film screenings, the space will prioritize affordable rentals and collaborations with Springfield's small theater and film communities.
2. Free Veterans Law CLE Offered on September 18th in Springfield, MO (bransontrilakesnews.com) — Attorneys in and around Springfield can sign up now for a free veterans-law CLE on September 18 at Lowther Johnson downtown, offering 2.4 MCLE credits including ethics. Hosted by Mizzou's Veterans Clinic Tigers for Troops program, the training aims to build a stronger local network of lawyers ready to help Missouri veterans with VA and military claims.
3. Springfield woman accused of pulling knife after trying to take another person's dog (ozarksfirst.com subscription) — Police say a Springfield resident was arrested after allegedly trying to walk off with another person's dog on North Campbell Avenue and then reportedly brandishing a knife during the confrontation. No injuries were reported, but the woman now faces felony robbery and weapons charges and is being held in Greene County Jail ahead of a scheduled bond hearing.
4. 'She touched so many people': Friends, family remember woman killed in Springfield crash (sgfcitizen.org) — A Springfield woman recently returned home to arrange her mother's funeral was killed in a Sept. 2 crash on Kearney Street, leaving friends and family grieving. Loved ones and coworkers at Mama G's Kitchen are organizing fundraisers and a GoFundMe to help with funeral and medical expenses, while Springfield police continue investigating the suspected impaired-driving collision.
