1. Proposed NeighborWorks+ projects to go before Springfield City Council Monday (ksmu.org) — Springfield residents could soon see $5 million in neighborhood improvements as City Council prepares to consider the first round of NeighborWorks+ projects, heavily focused on traffic calming and sidewalks. Twenty-one of the city's 24 neighborhoods are slated for upgrades, with work expected to begin soon and wrap up by the end of next summer if council approves the bill.
   

2. Developer behind proposed data center on South National sues city over moratorium (sgfcitizen.org) — A developer has sued the city of Springfield in Greene County Circuit Court, challenging the 120-day moratorium on data center applications that halted his proposed high‑power facility on South National Avenue. The lawsuit argues the moratorium was improperly enacted, conflicts with Springfield's charter, and has stalled costly planning work, while city officials seek time to craft new data‑center regulations.
   

3. Juveniles hospitalized following early morning shooting in downtown Springfield (sgfcitizen.org) — Police are investigating after two juveniles were shot early Saturday near Park Central Square in downtown Springfield, with both taken to the hospital with apparently non-life-threatening injuries. Officers responded around 2:15 a.m., and a possible third related victim later appeared at Cox North, while investigators say they believe the incident was isolated and poses no ongoing threat.
   

4. Facility that provides life-saving survival swim lessons for children opens its doors in Springfield (ky3.com) — Families in Springfield now have a new option for teaching kids crucial water-safety skills, with Tiny Fins Survival Swim opening at 3001 E. Cherry St. The facility offers individualized survival swim lessons for children as young as six months, using heated pools and a specialized approach focused on floating, rolling to safety, and building confidence in the water.
   

5. Galloway restaurant to host soft opening after summer of renovations (news-leader.com) — Springfield food lovers will soon see Vine Pairings in Galloway reopen for a soft launch on Sept. 24 after June flooding wrecked its space and food truck. The roundup also highlights major Taco Bell Foundation grants for the Boys & Girls Club of Springfield's "Future Ready" program and a legal split between two local food businesses.
