Local Business Owner Takes Home Top Honors and Awards
Mr. Electric of Southwest Missouri owner wins Franchisee of the Year Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (October 13, 2017) – Nathanael Toms, owner of Mr. Electric of Southwest Missouri, a Neighborly company, earned the Mr. Electric Franchisee of the Year Award and Top Gun honors at the 2017 Dwyer Group International Conference held Sept. 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.
The Franchisee of the Year Award is the highest annual honor that can be bestowed upon a Mr. Electric franchisee. The award goes to a franchisee that has consistently, over a period of years, grown a model Mr. Electric business and had exemplary customer service, while developing a talented team of associates who are viewed with esteem, by all peers. Fellow franchisees view them as approachable and caring.
The Top Gun award goes to franchise owners who achieve top sales and reach operational benchmarks. The Top Gun recipients represent the top 10 percent of Mr. Electric franchise owners across North America.

“The idea of ‘Top Gun’ was established by the Navy in the 1960s as a way to give training and credit to elite fighter pilots,” said Joel Worthington, president of Mr. Electric. “Taking a page from the Naval Top Gun Program, each year we recognize our franchise leaders for their accomplishments and dedication to the trade. It takes dedication, hard work, expertise and commitment to reach the Top Gun goal and we are honored to have these winners on our team.”
The Top Gun designation was inspired by the 1980’s movie of the same moniker. Don Dwyer, the late founder of Mr. Electric parent company, Dwyer Group, initiated the concept. He felt the top franchise owners went the extra mile and did what it took to be exemplary.
