U.S. Cellular Helps with Incredible Wearables Experiment on National Youth Science Day

U.S. Cellular Store Manager Nathan Piper works alongside Greene County 4-H Club members Kaitlyn Darling and Kodi Burdick as they take part in an interactive learning experience that challenged the youth to use the engineering design process to build a wearable fitness tracking device on Oct. 3. The Incredible Wearables experiment in Springfield was one of several events held as part of the National 4-H Council’s celebration of National Youth Science Day. Participating youth learned how circuits, sensors and health data can be blended with design principles to create a viable wearable tech product. Piper and several other U.S. Cellular associates volunteered at the event as part of the company’s continuing commitment to advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.
