How A 12 Year-Old Plans To Avoid Trouble

How can we get our kids to stop fighting with their siblings?!?! Perhaps asking them how they can better use their time.... maybe.

"How To Avoid Trouble"

This past Monday I had an argument with my little sister. My consequence was to write this paper on ways to avoid trouble. If you’re ever going to fight, stop and think,” Is this a good idea?” If it isn’t then don’t even think about it, if it isn’t going to annoy anyone and is fun then you can try to ask. I think I've come up with some pretty clever ideas on the topic How To Avoid Trouble.

Some activities I can occupy myself with besides annoying parents or sisters might be homework, because it’s an important thing to get school work done before you do anything else. I could also play the piano because practice makes perfect. It would also fill the house with wonderful music that would make the house seem alive. There is always the option of drawing or writing. You can do so many things with both of them, you can draw and write about rainbows and dark alleys. That’s not all though. You can get outside on a nice day and ride a bike, a skateboard, or even a unicycle. You could also get your sweat pants and a t-shirt on and go running forever until your legs were sore for the rest of your life. You could finish all those chores that need to be done outside that your parents keep nagging you about. There are so many things to do that aren’t fighting that are occupying time wisely and they can be fun to do if you make them that way.

If you’re really just bored and don’t want to do anything else, you can read a book, watch a movie, play a game with the family, or just take a nap. There are so many things you can do with free time that you have. Don’t waste it on bickering, nagging or fighting with a close relative; waste it on something you want to do, something fun.
