The smooth jazz trio 3 Central and gospel singer Erica Reed are joining comedians Brother Dré and Davey Dave for a night of inspirational music and clean laughter geared to help a St. Charles organization provide shelter for homeless men during the winter.
The St. Louis-based artists are putting on a benefit concert from 8-10 p.m., Feb. 18, at St. Charles Presbyterian Church, located at 131 S. Gamble St. next to Lindenwood University in St. Charles. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 at the door. Cash preferred, but checks accepted. No credit cards, please.
Brother Dré will host the event, introducing Reed, Dave and headliner 3 Central. All have built solid reputations and large followings in the St. Louis entertainment scene.

Proceeds from the event will go to the St. Charles Homeless Alliance, an organization of ministers, civic leaders and concerned citizens that joined together in 2010 to address the needs of the growing homeless population in St. Charles. The group focuses on homeless men, as there are no shelters in St. Charles County that accept single, homeless men. The group pays for discount hotel rooms where the men can stay when the weather becomes dangerously cold. Meanwhile, the group is looking for a location to create a permanent seasonal shelter.
