To better prepare St. Charles County for whatever emergency may strike next, businesses and organizations throughout the area are invited to join the St. Charles County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD). An organizational meeting on Tuesday, March 20 (1 – 3 p.m.) at Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service (4116 McClay in St. Charles) will further outline the structure of this community-based group. The overall goal of the COAD is to coordinate the mobilization and utilization of resources in the event of an emergency within St. Charles County. Non-profits, volunteer groups, faith-based organizations, public service agencies and private businesses are invited to join the committee.
