Living This Life

Join me on an epic journey—thirty adventures in thirty days.

The world is filled with so many beautiful, exciting and incredible adventures just waiting to be explored.
For the next 30 days I will do something I haven’t done, go somewhere I haven’t been, meet someone new, try new foods—well, there’s just so much to do and be done!

Living, however, is so much more than just doing a bunch of things—living includes processing, reflecting and engaging. Our experiences serve to shape and define who we are and who we become. We cannot just sit around waiting for things to happen in life—we have to make life happen!

I have spent 22 of my 44 years as a wife and 27 as a mother. Being newly single with grown, out of town children has been a little discombobulating. I have yet to find life’s new rhythm. Transitioning into a new person, releasing life’s former roles, discovering new roles, being comfortable just being—this has been my adventure for the past two years.

I have been asked several times about my future—what do you want to do? This is such a hard question for me to answer—I envy those who know. Life has been such a succession of rapid changes for me that my path no longer seems as clear as it did at one time. I have had experiences this past year that I could never have imagined—makes me nervous to decide on doing one thing fearing I might miss out on so many others!

The quest I am exploring is not about what I want to do—it’s really more about who I want to be. I want to be a better person in so many ways—in ways I am not even sure about. George Eliot so aptly put it this way, “Adventure is not outside a man, it is within.” I have the suspension that what I will do in life will make herself known as I discover more of who I am and become more of who I am evolving into being.

Those who have followed me over the years are familiar with my commitment to live out loud—essentially just sharing the journey of life’s lessons and experiences. I have long believed that life is a gift to be lived and shared. It is time to fully embrace this new life place—to really start living this life—there’s a lot of catching up to do!
