Mid-East Area Agency on Aging Receives Generous Donation for Meals on Wheels Program
St. Charles Residents Donate $20,000 to Help Area Seniors
The St. Charles Mid-East Area Agency on Aging’s (MEAAA) Senior Center’s “Meals on Wheels” program was presented with a $20,000 check by the City of Charles during a recent city council meeting. The St. Charles MEAAA Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program delivers daily meals to about 120 St.Charles home-bound seniors. The contribution is a result of St. Charles residents donating over and above their water bills for the past 10 months.
MEAAA Executive Director Mary Schaefer said: “We are very humbled and thrilled by this kind gesture of the St. Charles community and especially want to thank St. Charles County Councilman Jerry Reese and the entire St. Charles administration for being our champion.”
